GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators can secure guaranteed GPU resources for their courses by creating GPU reservations. These reservations grant top priority access to requested GPU compute hardware, ensuring that both training sessions and labs have the necessary infrastructure to run smoothly.

 

The process for setting up a GPU reservation for a course is outlined below:

Navigate to the Desktops tab on the course page and select the blue button labeled "Reserve GPU," located directly beneath the Video conference button.

 

A dialog box will appear, prompting you to provide specific details for your GPU request.

The first field is for location, which defaults to "Anywhere."

If you are aware of the city closest to your participants, you can refine the search by selecting "Within distance from city" and entering the location manually.

For broader geographic coverage, select the "Others..." option.

After confirming your location preference, click "Continue" to proceed to the "Per desktop" section, where you define the machine specifications.

In this section, specify the required resources per machine to generate an accurate cost estimate for the allocated resources.

** Accuracy is crucial here, as it ensures a precise cost projection and aids course managers in locating suitable resources if availability in a specific region is low.

 

Once you are satisfied with the input details, click Continue to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is highly recommended to consult with the trainer in this step to determine the exact needs of the course. Trainers typically know the specific GPU Vendor and Model required for their delivery. If you or the trainer are unsure of the specifications, please select "ANY."

Currently, we support two Vendors: AMD and Nvidia.

For models, our current catalogue is listed. If the specific trainer requirements are unclear, select "ANY."

 

Finally, once all reservation details are confirmed, click "Place reservation." This action will allocate the funds, activate the reservation, and update the status on the course page, as shown below:
